Things to do before I die

It occurred to me rather recently that my list of things to do before I die was dwindling…and by that I don’t mean that I am anywhere near completing it all, but I’ve scratched a number of items off the list. So now I’m faced with the task of refilling. It’s kind of tough! There are so many things I want to do, but trying to sit down and think of them all is impossibly hard. So this list will grow (and hopefully shrink too!) as time wears on.

1. Publish a novel

2. Get married (October 8, 2011)

3. Have a child (putting this one on hold)

4. Decide what I want to be when I grow up  (See #5)

5. Make money as a photographer

6. Buy a house November 9, 2012

7. Grow a vegetable garden We’ve got tomatoes, jalapenos, cucumbers and strawberries in our back yard!

8. Find balance in my life

9. Practice yoga on a regular basis for more than week It’s been about two months!

10. Make my own wine

11. Visit all 50 States (Spring, 2010)

12. Go to England with my mom

13. Visit Australia

14. Read all the books on my bookshelves

15. Visit New York City at Christmas (I’ve been there so many times, once even in November, but never during full blown Christmas season)

16. Hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up

17. Learn French (…finish learning French)

18. Get a masters degree (in???)

19. Complete Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred…for an UNINTERRUPTED 30 days

20. Finish the NaNoWriMo

21. Take a cooking class

22. Chronicle my life with one photo every day for a whole year

23. Visit Europe with Jim (London, Athens, Santorini, Honeymoon, Oct. 2011)

24. Win a photo competition

25. Fly somewhere first class

26. Take a photography class (Summer, 2011)

27. Refurbish an old piece of furniture

28. Take a transatlantic cruise

29. Make and try a strange flavor of ice cream (basil?) (made basil ice cream. It turned out HORRIBLE. I need to try another recipe)

30. Take a trip across the country in a train

31. Make a gingerbread house

32. Take photos of sunrise and sunset in the same day (Santorini during our honeymoon, Oct. 2011)

33. Start my own business (Stephanie Sutherlin Photography is official!)

34. Catch fireflies in a jar

35. Drink champagne out of the bottle with a straw

36. Spy on someone through a hole in a newspaper

37. Read Moby Dick

38. Learn how to sail

39. Organize all the stuff in my life

40. Live in a house with a wrap-around porch

56. Truly help someone

57. Walk in another Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure (my third)

58. Spend a whole day watching Christmas movies

59. Go on another road trip around the USA with Jim

60. Get together (and keep!!) a regular gym schedule

61. Go back to Paris…with Jim (and hope it’s better with someone you love than it was with a friend)
